So irritating reading shit like Texas last post.

They also hit the post twice and would also say that they gifted us our goals. A great game against one of the worlds best teams where a draw was about right. Although we probably edged it.

The Sun report and dream team ratings are done by different people.

The Ratings are from opta.

On reflection...City created vey little...

We gave them BOTH GOALS...

Needless tackle by Jenkinson...Penalty...

Unfortunate rebound Off Cresswell...set up Aguero in front of Goal...

We were better...but shot ourselves in the foot...TWICE...

Speaking of journalistic opinions
The Observers match report is by someone called Sachin Nakrani who gave the match a ranking of 6 out of 10.
The same ranking as was given to Sunderland v Bournemouth

Re: West Ham v Man City - Official Match Thread FT 2-2
We are on the verge of becoming a very, very good football team. The kid who replaced Jenkinson should now be 1st choice over him, he's not the player he was a year ago and is becoming a liability.

Shame, but he was never going to become a hammer anyway so let him go now.

Collins is a class act now, but the whole team has quality throughout. True, we do tend to raise our game against better teams, but once we believe we are one of those 'better teams' we will really improve.

The odd blip will always creep in, this season it's happened to every club, but we have top 6 class with definitely top four potential going forward.

Not this season, but very close now.

Who the fuck would have thought we could ever say this about our side?

Bilic is also a class act and with one financial support in the summer the future is very, very bright for us.

What position in the league would we be now if Jenkinson had never returned to us this season?

Rarely read football journos, with the odd exception of perhaps Guillem Balagu, Gab Marcotti, Graham Hunter they are know nothing wankers

Exhibit A - Oliver Holt
Exhibit B - Henry Winter

Bear in mind they don't watch the whole game, just the same highlights as everyone else.

Could be that the better teams suit our game, but we were discussing last week how in a number of games how we started so slowly. Think there is an element where the players are more up for these games and know if they are not on it from the start then they could get mullered.
Do wonder on certain lesser games how focussed and prepared the players are because they suddenly seem to wake up when we are losing and take a while to get into those games, sometimes too late like last week.

Surely a random-number generator is cheaper (and more reliable) than the Sun's agency?

Re: West Ham v Man City - Official Match Thread FT 2-2
Player ratings (for the Sun at least) are done by an agency rather than the paper's journos.

I'm much more comfortable with our team being underrated by those in the so called know.

I don't think I've read player ratings in newspapers since the 90's. They've always been an absolute load of bollocks.

The press is in total crisis and they will write any crap to reach the target their market positioning pencil heads have set them. I suspect Sky and the BBC send the FA the same brief as well, judging by the standard of refereeing we've been seeing this season, and not only this one.

How MOTD didn't pick out Song as star player is beyond me... All bar Jenks and Moses were good to watch, Byram had a good debut.

Re: West Ham v Man City - Official Match Thread FT 2-2
Fuck em all anyway, we'll let our own eyes decide upon who was both the best player on the pitch and who the best team were, as it was pretty bloody obvious even if you are biased.

Grumpster. It's annoying but the more we fly index the radar the better as far as I'm concerned

Lovely bit on payet, the club and the Boleyn on goals in Sunday. Peter reid was so complimentary about us I almost thought he was a fan
